G-Max Pikachu

Price: ~$35.99 + shipping
Type: Plush
Species: Pikachu
Gen: 8
Origin: Pokemon Center

Pikachu’s design has changed alot over the years. In the first 5 years of Pokemon, it was very rotund like a hamster. However its body shape will change based on what it being marketed, or the current season of the animated series. Recently it has been slimmed down and made round around the head area. But during the 8th generation a new form of Pikachu was released based off the Japanese Kaijus, a Giant Pikachu! As a old time fan, I long waited for the time of this plush’s release. The red velvet like cloud around the head is a nice color touch and fits well with the brown stripes and red checks.

Pikachu Build-a-Bear

Price: ~$60.99 + shipping
Type: Plush
Species: Pikachu
Gen: 7
Origin: Build-A-Bear

Build-a-bear has released many species of Pokémon plush these days, but the first was Pikachu. At the the time there was 2 kinds of clothes and two kinds of voices, self made and preinstalled. I originally got three when they first came out, one in a Charizard suit, one in a Pokeball hoodie with the preinstalled voice, and another with my own voice and no outfit. I then was able to get a fourth as at a second hand shop, with no add ones. The plush itself is not all too different from Tomy’s style of making them. Very firm , it’s not too soft or plush.

Pikachu PEZ

The candy for this type does not have Pokemon shapes, but there are some that do.

Pikachu Smash amiibo

Type: Figure
Species: Pikachu
Gen: 6
Origin: General Store
In 2014, a video game was released called Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS and WiiU (or Smash 4 for short). This game includes many playable characters from many games. One of them is Pikachu and for each character, a figure was produced. It can be tapped on a device to act as a computer controller fighter that can be trained. However, it also has features in other games as well. This after causes amiibo to have a high pricing however Pikachu in particular doesn’t have many other functions.

Pikachu Legendary Set Card

Price: $128.63
Type: Trading Card
Species: Pikachu
Gen: 2
Origin: eBay
This Pikachu card comes from the Legendary Set of old. That set was made of all older cards before this. In this case, the Pikachu is based off the Jungle set. This is the first set to contain reverse holofoils which is what you see here. This design was only used for that set, often called the Fireworks design. My sister had a Fireworks Nidoran♀ since we were kids, and I’ve always wanted this Pikachu card to match it since then. It took a while to find one at a good price, but thankfully this one was a bid so it naturally was low.

Snowman Pikachu (Holiday 2014)

Price: ~$14.99 – shipping
Type: Plush
Species: Pikachu
Gen: 6
Origin: Pokemon Center Online USA

A snowman shaped as a snowman, with a removeable scarf. A personal favorite of mine, this was one of the few plushies that started my drive for collection. This plush is actually quite popular online, the price of it has close to doubled since it came out. There was one year that it came back but only for a week or so.

It’s actually quite popular: It is based off the snowman Pikachu pet Pikachu can make in Mt. Snowfall in Pokemon Channel for the GameCube. Which also made an appearance as a home décor in Gen 5’s Dream World Online app. An April Fool’s joke about Game Freak moving to the north to save Snowman Pikachu from polar bears was made by Game Freak themselves. Lastly, it has been used on and off in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.
