G-Max Pikachu

Price: ~$35.99 + shipping
Type: Plush
Species: Pikachu
Gen: 8
Origin: Pokemon Center

Pikachu’s design has changed alot over the years. In the first 5 years of Pokemon, it was very rotund like a hamster. However its body shape will change based on what it being marketed, or the current season of the animated series. Recently it has been slimmed down and made round around the head area. But during the 8th generation a new form of Pikachu was released based off the Japanese Kaijus, a Giant Pikachu! As a old time fan, I long waited for the time of this plush’s release. The red velvet like cloud around the head is a nice color touch and fits well with the brown stripes and red checks.

Pikachu Build-a-Bear

Price: ~$60.99 + shipping
Type: Plush
Species: Pikachu
Gen: 7
Origin: Build-A-Bear

Build-a-bear has released many species of Pokémon plush these days, but the first was Pikachu. At the the time there was 2 kinds of clothes and two kinds of voices, self made and preinstalled. I originally got three when they first came out, one in a Charizard suit, one in a Pokeball hoodie with the preinstalled voice, and another with my own voice and no outfit. I then was able to get a fourth as at a second hand shop, with no add ones. The plush itself is not all too different from Tomy’s style of making them. Very firm , it’s not too soft or plush.

Vaporeon Mimikyu

Price: Unknown
Type: Plush
Species: Mimikyu
Gen: 7

This is a 8 inch Mimikyu plush. This Pokémon looks like Vaporeon, but it’s a completely different line of species. It’s actually a Ghost/Fairy type Pokemon. It usually dresses as a Pikachu since wants to become more popular. This is actually a keychain plush, and comes in a line of plushies with all of Vaporeon’s family (pictured).

I got this at a local shopping district I go to once a month. One of the shops sells American and Japanese Pokémon merchandise, including many different Mimikyu.

Species: Mimikyu
Gen: 7
Origin: Collector’s shop
This is a 8 inch Mimikyu plush. This Pokémon looks like Pikachu, but it’s a completely different line of species. It’s actually a Ghost/Fairy type Pokemon. It’s true form is hidden underneath its Pikachu costume, since everyone that sees it is paralyzed with fear. It is also said that it chose a costume that looks like Pikachu in hopes of becoming more popular. This plush is small enough to act as a keychain plush, and sits itself up very well despite having no support. I got this at a local shopping district I go to once a month. Alolan Raichu

Price: Unknown – shipping
Type: Plush
Species: Raichu
Gen: 7
Origin: TOMY

A 10 inch plush of Alolan Raichu. It’s the evolved form of Pikachu when in Alola. Alola is a tropical region. It uses psychic powers to surf on its tail, even when in midair. It’s also said to smell like pancakes, either because it’s made of them or it eats them too much. This became a popular plush when it first came out, and even got up to $50! I have two of these, one loose and one boxed and I got them both as gifts. It’s one of my favorites because it is made of a softer material than most of the TOMY plushies.

Snowman Pikachu (Holiday 2014)

Price: ~$14.99 – shipping
Type: Plush
Species: Pikachu
Gen: 6
Origin: Pokemon Center Online USA

A snowman shaped as a snowman, with a removeable scarf. A personal favorite of mine, this was one of the few plushies that started my drive for collection. This plush is actually quite popular online, the price of it has close to doubled since it came out. There was one year that it came back but only for a week or so.

It’s actually quite popular: It is based off the snowman Pikachu pet Pikachu can make in Mt. Snowfall in Pokemon Channel for the GameCube. Which also made an appearance as a home décor in Gen 5’s Dream World Online app. An April Fool’s joke about Game Freak moving to the north to save Snowman Pikachu from polar bears was made by Game Freak themselves. Lastly, it has been used on and off in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.

Pichu Bros. Plush (Little and Big “Tuffy”)

Price: Tuffy Order total: $34.99, Little Order total: $23.60
Type: Plush
Species: Pichu
Gen: 2
Origin: Tomy JPN (eBay)

These are individual plush of the Pichu Bros. 6 inches tall. I had them bought and shipped from ebay. Growing up I loved the Pichu Bros so I needed a plush of them. The search for them took a while. I found both on ebay but only bought Tuffy since he’s more popular. I couldn’t buy Little until 2 years later. The Pichu Bros. stared only in Pokemon shorts of the anime, but had a game dedicated to them that ironically focused on watching TV.
